Matt Ford resides in Rainelle, WV with his wife Jamie and two sons, Peyton and Jacob. He is the co-owner and founder of Greenbrier Environmental Group, Inc., annd environmental consulting firm that specializes in brownfield redevelopment, permitting, environmental due diligence, and grant writing. He is Executive Director of Meadow River Valley Association, Inc., a non-profit organization that he co-founded to lead community and economic development projects in the Meadow River Valley. Most notably, Meadow River Valley Association lead the repurposing of the former Rupert School that resulted in over $5 Million in investment in Rupert, WV. He currently serves as Chairman of the board of directors for Greenbrier Valley Economic Development Corporation and the Air & Waste Management Association, WV Chapter. He also serves on the board of directors for the Greenbrier Valley Community Foundation. He is a co-founder of the Greater Greenbrier Long-Term Recovery Committee and worked with volunteers to help with recovery from the 2016 flooding in southern WV.

His family has lived and worked in Greenbrier and Fayette Counties for 8 generations. His education started in Germany at a Department of Defense Dependent School while his dad was serving in the U.S. Army. He attended elementary and jr. high at Crichton near Quinwood, West Virginia. He is a graduate of Greenbrier West High School, West Virginia University, and Marshall University.

Mr. Ford has extensive experience in brownfields restoration and community/economic development. His projects include remediation of the Freedom Industries site in Charleston, WV; Repurposing of the former Rupert Elementary School; remediation of the former Century Aluminum Plant in Ravenswood, WV; Development of the Meadow River Rail Trail; and hundreds of other sites across the eastern United States for Federal, State, and private-sector clients. Mr. Ford has dedicated over the last 15 years to help make Greenbrier County a better place to live, work, and play.
